I’ve just finished work on a new website for AiRealistic, an aerial theater company. I’ll let the site explain (hopefully!) what that means.

In what will undoubtedly be this year’s last, best meme, BoingBoing editor Xeni Jardin took one for the team (that team being ALL TEH INTERWEBZ!) by posting a bunch of animated .gifs depicting “reinterpretations” of the shoe thrown by Muntadhar al-Zaidi (yes, OMFG this guy has his own Wikipedia page) at George W. Bush. Within 24 hours since the post published, their bandwidth costs went through the roof.
According to Xeni, FTW:
I could have purchased 8.3 pairs of real live Manolos for what this blog post cost us in just 24 hours.
See all the epic lulz here, here and (warning, somewhat annoying music) here.
This week on Your Weekly Media, I’ve chosen a video I was made aware of when I took a distance-learning course in (then) Macromedia Flash in 2005. While the quirky song by The Real Tuesday Weld is made somewhat traditionally, this home-brew video is a testament to the power of a rapid-prototyping tool such as Flash. Anyway, enjoy the weirdness, and for more of it, check out Figli Migli Productions.
Unfortunately, I won’t make it to any of the Earth Day celebrations this Sunday, as the plan is to take the ‘rents, who have been in Europe the past two weeks or so, to Lake Balaton for some sun and lángos.
Anyway, here are some fun CM banners:

Have been meaning to post a link showing my first Flash “banner ad”. Yes, I am now officially one of those people you don’t know exist, but probably hate. Hey, I did it for E’s non-profit!
Well, here’s the link: http://www.exit.hu. Look at the top of the page and if you see a sort of tannish ad with a face, white lettering and a “Twilight Zone” effect then that’s mine. I’m just a few more steps from being rich and famous.
I’ve been pretty AWOL lately, and you may have noticed that when I update the site, it’s usually with about 3 posts at a time. The timestamps are more an indicator of when I should have posted, not when things actually happened. But at least enough happens so that I don’t have to keep linking back to old posts. Whatever.
The point of this entry is just to explain that my abscence from public life is in no way due to being absent from in front of my laptop. No, in fact I’ve been super busy with two website projects, one for a friend of mine back home who is organizing a massive Hip Hop Festival, the other for the kindergarten that I work for. The Nakayoshi site isn’t done yet (and it’s all in Japanese anyway), but the Trinity site is looking super. Have a look at both when you get a chance!
