To be honest I hadn&#039;t really considered my position on a &quot;global federalist government&quot;, whatever that&#039;s supposed to mean. Are we talking like a UN where every country gets veto power? Yeah, that&#039;s likely.

But anyway, I&#039;m not saying that Desertec itself is my dream job, just the concept of trying to address both global poverty and renewable energy in the same fell swoop. It&#039;s undeniable that globalization has come with both positive and negative aspects, but I seriously doubt we can &quot;go back&quot;, and thus need to address problems of the global commons with both large- and small-scale solutions. I&#039;m working on the small ones now- getting involved in solar in southern California. But in ten years&#039; time? This is where I&#039;d like to be heading...</description>
